Zamil offshore and CMN NAVAL ink a deal at the World Defence Show 2022

Riyadh KSA, March, 7th, 2022 – Zamil Offshore Services Company and CMN NAVAL incorporate a group of companies to become the regional reference in building composite high-speed interceptors and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) services for the local and export markets.

Zamil Offshore and CMN NAVAL will bring industrial assets, systems, financial, and technological resources with the intent to leverage the best of both Companies' capabilities in creating a new champion in the naval shipbuilding industry worldwide.

The agreements were signed by Sufyan Al Zamil, CEO of Zamil Offshore and Pierre Blamer, CEO of CMN Naval during the World Defense Show.

Zamil Offshore Services Company has been offering diversified offshore and marine support services to the oil and gas industry since 1977. Its core business includes offshore marine and diving services, offshore construction and hook up services, shipbuilding, ship and rig maintenance along with seaport operations. The company operates shipyards on both coasts of the Kingdom, namely, at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Saudi Aramco’s West Pier Facility at Ras Tanura, and Jeddah Islamic Port.

CMN NAVAL is a leading global shipbuilder present in 42 Navies with facilities and shipyards across Europe including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. CMN Naval’s design and engineering IP rights and transfer of technology including management, training, ILS, combat system integration, and unique shipbuilding expertise will contribute to creating the Kingdom’s first high-tech composite facility with full capabilities to handle the build process from design to delivery.

Sufyan Al Zamil commented that “These agreements today come as an extension to our ongoing successful partnership with CMN in the aluminum High Speed Interceptor program, where we manufactured 27 out of the total of 58 HSIs locally in our facility at Dammam. With the composites capability added to our existing portfolio of steel and aluminum manufacturing and the introduction of a local ILS provider, we will be able to cater to all defense customer demands in Kingdom and on a global scale.”

The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) is the Kingdom’s defence sector regulator. Zamil Offshore is licensed by GAMI to engage in various defence activities, including manufacturing, services, and trade. GAMI’s regulatory oversight and policymaking efforts act as the key enabler of such strategic localization partnerships.
